Passing of Rev. Shannon Wheaton & family members Monday, April 30, 2012 It is with deep sadness that the Alberta & NWT District announces the deaths of one of our PAOC colleagues and ministry families. Pastor Shannon Wheaton, his wife Trena (nee Thompson) and one of their two young children, Benjamin, were among 7 people who died in a head-on crash on Friday in northeastern Alberta. Pastor Shannon served as the Family Ministries Pastor at Family Christian Centre in Fort McMurray. The Wheaton family were all traveling together with another couple, Mark & Courtney Penney at the time of the accident. Three-year-old son Timothy Wheaton and Mark Penney are the only ones that survived the crash.

We are asking for all of our PAOC church & ministry family to join us in prayer for son Timothy, the families of Shannon and Trena, for Mark Penney and the Family Christian Centre church family also. Remember Senior Pastor Edwin Rideout and his wife Rhoda as they minister to the church family and community in this incredibly difficult time. Details for funeral and memorial services will be posted once finalized.
