Guatemala Training Centre to Open Friday, October 13, 2006

Did you ever ask the Lord to do something for you by a certain date?  Generally speaking this is not a good idea.  It speaks of urgency and by design, puts God in a corner.  It also sets us up for a likely disappointment causing us to doubt our faith.

Even so, every believer has the clear and simple promise from Jesus in John?s gospel chapter 16:23-24 that we can ask for anything in His name and the Father will give it to us.  So why are we reticent to ask time sensitive requests?  Who knows?

Another 3 months and we will be opening the William Cornelius Vocational Training Centre and it will be a miracle if we are ready, there is so much work to do. Yet we are moving forward completely trusting that God will answer our prayers.

Deadlines are not a problem to God though I believe our motives can be.  Allow me to explain what it is that has kept Pauline and I going on the project; from the outset, we have known beyond doubt that this was God?s will and work.

Leaning heavily on God?s promise to supply all we would need, we pressed on under the guidance of Matthew 6:33 in conjunction with Proverbs 3: 5-6.  Now we invite you to walk with us the next three months and see God?s hand clearly working.

I truly believe that we can ask anything of the Father in the precious name of His Son regardless of deadlines?..when we know that what it is we are asking for is in accordance with His will and purpose.

Never asking for anything in case you don?t receive, is also wrong, for this is not glorifying to God and is counterproductive in Kingdom building.  We just need to find something that God wants done and go and do it.  He will bless His work.

Each Wednesday we fast and pray for the current needs of the school and we have grown accustomed to God?s gracious interventions each Thursday.  He is so faithful but remember ? this is His work.

So many are making plans to come to the grand opening on the 13th January 2007.  I would like to make (I believe inspired) a request for those who are able, to try and bring along a functioning musical instrument for the school?s music department.  Let?s make this a fun thing, let?s see what the Lord brings your way.

How we thank the Lord for each of you, who over the years of our ministry here, have loved us, prayed for us, provided resources and walked alongside of us, on this most incredible journey.  We know He has blessed you and will continue to do so.
